Health Information Specialist II responsible for managing, mapping, and ensuring the quality of healthcare data across systems, leveraging FHIR and HL7 standards, SQL, and Python to support data collaboration and analytics initiatives.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Map and transform healthcare data between disparate systems using HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR standards.
- Develop and maintain data quality rules, perform audits, and resolve data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to design and implement data pipelines, utilizing SQL and Python for extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Document data models, metadata, and data lineage to support governance and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross‑functional projects to enable secure data sharing and analytics across the healthcare ecosystem.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in health information management or data integration roles.
- Proficiency with HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, and related healthcare data standards.
- Strong SQL skills and experience scripting in Python for data manipulation.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
