About the Role
Are you energized to create new markets for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL) technology? Do you love scaling new businesses? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a seasoned Head of AI/ML Sales Leader for the Americas to help us scale our artificial intelligence/machine learning business. The AWS machine learning portfolio includes ML services, such as Amazon SageMaker, and AI services, including Amazon Transcribe, Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Comprehend and Amazon Lex. The successful candidate will be a broad leader – part market maker, part operator, and part general manager. This leader will partner with Sales and Product teams to build a strategy focused on winning new customer segments and growing existing customer segments for the long term. This is an exciting opportunity to own the global go-to-market definition and execution of AWS’s strategy for AI/ML Services.
Responsibilities
- Define strategic workloads to drive the necessary business and technical relationships with customers and partners.
- Build a high-performing team of global business development experts.
- Develop mechanisms to establish new business in target market segments and enable the global field organization to drive the day-to-day interactions that identify prospects for long-term business opportunities.
- Focus on incubating new AWS AI/ML Services, scaling existing AWS services, delivering workload/solution specific domain expertise to the broader field organization, and developing repeatable, packaged solutions to solve customer challenges.
- Work closely with product and other AI/ML BD teams to help them evolve the products and address issues, concerns, and requests from the field.
- Analyze and determine key customer insights from business drivers, market trends and customer feedback, and operating metrics.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in a senior leadership role in Business Planning, Operations, Strategy, Finance, Business Development, or other related fields.
- 3+ years working domain experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience rapidly growing an organization and attracting, hiring and maintaining top talent.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in a senior leadership role in Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, Finance, Business Development, or other related fields.
- Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results.
- Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization, and to create a vision and organization that can scale quickly.
- Proven experience with the development and implementation of systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, sales force automation, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management.
- Motivated self-starter, proactive and action-oriented.
