Scope is seeking a Head of AI/ML to drive their AI strategy, lead innovation, and oversee the development and scaling of all AI projects, with a focus on computer vision for rope safety standards. - Stay at the forefront of computer vision research, identify emerging trends, and explore innovative technologies to build on and maintain our competitive edge
- Drive Scope's AI strategy and implement the vision of the organization
- Build and drive Scope's data strategy, removing silos and enabling automation
- Identify and define the organization's AI goals, develop a roadmap for achieving those goals, measure and report success
- Define and drive AI/ML best practices throughout the entire AI lifecycle Inform and deliver on ambitious product roadmaps to accelerate growth
- Take on a customer-centric approach in projects
- Oversee the development, implementation and scalability of all AI projects
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure AI projects are aligned with Scope's overall strategy and that they are delivered on time and on budget
- Architect a full ML platform and build out the infrastructure to support scalability
- Build and deploy end to end deep learning models and leverage metrics to support predictions, recommendations and growth strategies
- Identify and mitigate the risks associated with AI/ML projects
- Build the right AI/ML team
- Ensure that the right skills and people are in place to execute the AI strategy
- Lead from the front as a hands-on subject matter expert, architecting and crafting scalable solutions, and driving data excellence across the organization
- Provide collaborative leadership to build out the AI function, MLEs, MLOps and Data Engineering
- Coach and mentor our team as we build scalable data and machine learning solutions
- Utilize your strong hands-on engineering background to assist your team where needed
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of computer vision solutions into our products
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical excellence in AI, Deep learning and Data Analytics
- Expert understanding of machine learning algorithms - specifically deep learning for computer vision
- Direct understanding of the machine learning landscape, including experience delivering capabilities that leverage deep learning technologies
- Extensive tech background as you will operate as both an individual contributor and a manager as we expand the team
- Experience leading major strategic, cross-functional deep learning initiatives with a focus on machine vision
- Established success implementing emerging technologies into solutions shipped to customers
- Experience delivering cloud-based solutions at scale. Understanding of cost and economic burdens, security and compliance a plus.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in camera hardware and optics.
- Knowledge of JTBD Theory, Lean Startup Methodologies, Crossing the Chasm, and Effortless Experience concepts
- Diversified experience with SaaS start ups and growth oriented SaaS organizations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors / Masters / PHD in a relevant field - Experience is paramount
- 7-10 years experience in the machine learning field, building deep learning based products / platforms / solutions
- 5+ years working in a product-oriented role, where data-driven decisions are standard practice
- Computer vision and software engineering industry experience is essential
- Expertise with machine learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies, including both private and public clouds
- Experience within a startup is a huge plus
