Head of AI

The Role

We’re seeking a Head of AI to set and drive the research and technical vision for Sourcerer’s core AI systems. This is a founding-level role: in the early stage you’ll be deeply hands-on, advancing our models and agent frameworks; as we grow, you’ll shape the research agenda, define standards, and recruit a world-class AI team.

You’ll push the boundaries of multi-agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation, and real-time negotiation models while translating research into production systems that deliver measurable savings in global trade.

What You’ll Do

• Define and execute Sourcerer’s AI research strategy (multi-agent planning, negotiation, retrieval-augmented reasoning).
• Train and deploy large-scale models using Python + PyTorch/TensorFlow in production.
• Optimize inference pipelines using ONNX, TensorRT, and performance-critical C++ code.
• Advance foundational work in embeddings, sparse retrieval, and ranking over supply chain data.
• Design frameworks for benchmarking, evaluation, and reliability in live trade environments.
• Collaborate with founding engineers to ensure seamless integration of research with production systems.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead an exceptional AI research team over time.

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience in applied ML/AI research, with a track record of taking models into production.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, multi-agent frameworks, or transformer-based architectures.
• Strong research background (publications, patents, or advanced degree in AI/ML preferred).
• Multiple years of hands-on experience in Python and PyTorch/TensorFlow in real-world systems.
• Familiarity with ONNX, TensorRT, C++ for optimization and deployment.
• Systems thinker who balances cutting-edge research with practical production demands.
• Entrepreneurial — thrives in high-ownership, fast-moving environments.
