About the role:
A brand-new role for a highly-motivated Head of AI Product to join our e-commerce team at Gear4music, one of Europe’s leading Musical Instrument and Equipment e-commerce retailers. We are seeking a Head of AI Product to work closely with our commercial and technical teams, driving AI-driven advancements to enhance our customer experience and operational efficiency. Reporting into the Commercial Operations Director, you will play a crucial role in Gear4music’s ongoing success, taking responsibility for driving AI-fuelled improvements throughout Gear4music’s Operations and Customer Journey. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will identify opportunities for AI-driven enhancements, develop business cases, and ensure the successful delivery of AI products that will significantly improve our business operations and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with Gear4music’s overall business goals. Identify opportunities for AI to drive growth and innovation.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team and key business functions to promote an ‘AI-first’ mindset in identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Develop Business Cases: Quantify the impact of proposed AI changes focusing on cost savings, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and compliance.
- Identify Appropriate Solutions: Guide the business to the most commercially beneficial solution to each identified opportunity. Use your experience of existing AI solutions to shape ‘build vs. buy’ recommendations.
- Lead the end-to-end development of AI products, from ideation and design to implementation and launch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, and customer service.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all legal, ethical, and commercial considerations related to the integration of AI.
- Deliver value quickly with a focus on commercial benefits.
- Facilitate Technical Discussions: Engage directly with software engineers on complex AI topics and challenge approaches when necessary.
- Ensure Effective Rollout: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and utilisation of AI products.
- Assess Impact: Report on the impact of AI product changes post-implementation, assessing ROI.
Your Skill-Set and Experience:
- Proven, demonstrable experience of advancing a business through the use of AI as a product.
- Strong experience of a range of leading AI-solution providers.
- Experience in the e-commerce or retail sector is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, and data analytics. Ability to work closely with technical teams.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams. Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Customer-Centric: Passion for understanding and meeting customer needs.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to articulate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
