Hardware Engineer - KBR
Embedded Systems Engineer
Design and develop high‑performance electronic hardware for defense aviation and missile systems, leveraging PCB layout, signal‑integrity analysis, and embedded firmware development.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed schematics and multi‑layer PCB layouts for avionics and missile subsystems using Altium Designer.
- Perform signal‑integrity, power‑distribution, and thermal analyses to ensure compliance with stringent defense standards.
- Collaborate with system engineers to define hardware requirements, interface specifications, and integration test plans.
- Write and debug low‑level firmware in C/C++ for embedded processors and FPGAs.
- Generate documentation, bill of materials, and manufacturing files, and support prototype build, testing, and qualification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 3+ years of hardware design experience in defense or aerospace.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer (or comparable EDA tools) and hands‑on PCB fabrication knowledge.
- Strong understanding of high‑speed digital/analog design, signal‑integrity, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
- Experience programming embedded systems in C/C++ and using MATLAB for analysis and modeling.
- Ability to work in cross‑functional teams, manage design documentation, and meet rigorous security and quality standards.
