Graduate Radar Engineer / Analyst - Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development on RF propagation, radar phenomenology, and digital signal‑processing algorithms.
• Design, simulate, and test radar hardware and software prototypes using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and C++.
• Analyze experimental data, validate models, and produce technical reports for Navy and Department of Defense stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and scientists to integrate radar subsystems into larger sensor platforms.
• Present findings at internal reviews and external conferences, contributing to publications and patents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
• Strong foundation in RF engineering, radar theory, and digital signal processing.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and programming languages such as Python or C++ for algorithm development.
• Experience with simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST) and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
