About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the data governance program, ensuring accurate classification, protection, and lifecycle management of federal agency records.
- Make facility‑level determinations on FOIA requests, including issuance of denials, redactions, and disclosures while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Develop and update privacy and FOIA policies, procedures, and guidance documents to reflect current laws and best practices.
- Conduct in‑depth research of federal implementing regulations and case law to support policy decisions and training initiatives.
- Collaborate with clinical, IT, and legal teams to integrate privacy and FOIA requirements into system workflows and technology solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Law, Public Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in privacy, FOIA, or data governance within a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal privacy statutes (e.g., HIPAA, FOIA) and state privacy laws.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in policy drafting, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
