Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain privacy and FOIA policies, ensuring alignment with federal regulations and agency standards.
- Oversee the processing of FOIA requests, coordinating with internal stakeholders to provide timely, accurate responses while protecting sensitive information.
- Conduct risk assessments and data protection impact analyses to identify and mitigate privacy risks across agency systems.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to implement secure data handling practices and maintain audit trails.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on privacy obligations, FOIA procedures, and secure information management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Law, Public Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in privacy, FOIA, or data governance within a federal or large public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal privacy statutes (e.g., HIPAA, Privacy Act) and FOIA regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proficiency in policy drafting, risk assessment tools, and secure data handling practices.
