About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the processing of FOIA requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses in compliance with federal regulations.
- Develop and maintain records management policies, procedures, and training materials for agency staff.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and coordinate with the Privacy Office to safeguard sensitive information.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply FOIA, privacy, and EEO statutes to agency operations.
- Analyze and report on FOIA request trends, identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library Science, Law, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FOIA, privacy, or records management within a federal or large governmental environment.
- Strong knowledge of FOIA, Privacy Act, and related federal regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and records management systems.
