About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate system safety activities across multiple programs, ensuring compliance with DO‑178C, DO‑254, and other relevant safety standards.
- Conduct safety analysis, risk assessments, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate safety hazards.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, safety case, and safety lifecycle artifacts for certification and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, quality, regulatory) to embed safety into design, development, and production processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to safety engineers and support continuous improvement of safety processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace or defense system safety, with proven leadership in safety lifecycle management.
- Deep knowledge of safety standards (DO‑178C, DO‑254, ISO 26262) and safety tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance required.
