Lead geospatial data science initiatives for the NGA, turning heterogeneous GEOINT datasets into clear, actionable insights using Python, machine learning, GIS tools, and cloud‑based analytics.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning models to extract actionable intelligence from multi‑source geospatial data.
- Clean, integrate, and structure heterogeneous GEOINT datasets (binary, tiered, legacy) to support risk assessment and resource allocation.
- Build GIS workflows and spatial analytics pipelines using Python, SQL, and industry‑standard mapping libraries.
- Create interactive visualizations and dashboards that convey complex findings to senior decision‑makers.
- Collaborate with NGA analysts and engineers to ensure models are transparent, defensible, and aligned with mission objectives.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Python and its data‑science ecosystem (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Strong experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data formats.
- Solid background in SQL and relational database design for large‑scale geospatial datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and operationalize machine‑learning pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for SCI access.
