Creative freelance programmer needed to design and deliver the 2027 Paisley Book Festival programme, including core events, industry workshops, and venue coordination, working closely with partners and managing budgets on a part‑time basis.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and curate a diverse festival programme that builds on the success of the 2026 edition.
- Develop and schedule industry‑led workshops across the newly transformed venues.
- Liaise with authors, publishers, sponsors, and venue staff to secure participation and resources.
- Manage the festival budget, track expenses, and ensure cost‑effective delivery.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue layout, technical requirements, and on‑site support during the event.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event or festival programming, preferably within the literary or cultural sector.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging content schedules and workshop curricula.
- Experience handling budgets and negotiating contracts.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently on a part‑time, freelance basis.
