Founding Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a self-driven and creative engineer to join a small founding team of 3-4 engineers. The person will be working on a futuristic product to revolutionize machine learning model development. The person will not only code to develop the product, but also play a role in conceptualizing what has to be built. The users of the product will be ML engineers and this provides an opportunity to understand the field more deeply and intimately.

The person can find him/herself involved in one of the following: implementing a computational algorithm from a ML paper, conceptualizing the layer to manage data, writing integrations with various data science toolkits, writing a no-code layer on top of the libraries, or tracking beta release usage and reacting to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizing ideas and owning them from inception to execution
• Working directly with founders to define the product and engineering roadmap
• Understanding ML model design practices, open source libraries and ML stacks
• Writing scalable code, and owning it with testing and for deployment
• Participate in architecture discussions and build code adhering to architecture philosophy
• Deploy code and products, track usage and incorporate right features for customer delight

Requirements

• 1-5 years experience as a software developer & start-up experience (not required but preferred)
• Passionate about cutting-edge products & out of the box thinking
• Understanding & experience in SAAS software
• Some experience in Go, Typescript, or React (not required but preferred)
• Any exposure to ML pipeline, open source & front-end experience is a plus
• Excellent communication & team management skills (not required but preferred)
• A minimum of a bachelors in computer science or other related engineering program
