The Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Tenex is an outcome-driven builder responsible for designing and shipping AI-powered workflows to deliver measurable impact for clients. This role involves embedding directly into client codebases, owning end-to-end feature delivery, and utilizing cutting-edge AI tools for full-stack development and systems design.

The Forward Deployed AI Engineer at Tenex is an outcome-driven builder working in a high-talent, AI-native environment. You partner closely with strategists and clients to design and ship AI-powered workflows that deliver real, measurable impact.
Success is defined by what you produce. You’ll have high autonomy, leverage cutting-edge AI tools and internal automations, and be rewarded directly for execution and results through uncapped, output-aligned compensation.
This role has uncapped cash compensation. $180,000 is guaranteed, but everyone in good standing makes significantly more than this in their quarterly bonuses. In addition to the guaranteed base, engineers earn performance-based variable compensation tied directly to output: the quarterly quota is 562.5 story points, and every story point delivered above quota is paid out at $80 per point in quarterly payouts. When determining compensation, we consider job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
We prioritize in-person work and collaborate from our New York City office five days a week. We believe our best ideas come from working closely together.
