About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a team of flight test engineers and support personnel through all phases of test planning, execution, and post‑flight analysis.
- Develop and approve test plans, procedures, and risk assessments for complex aerospace platforms, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with program management, systems engineering, and external stakeholders to align test objectives with overall project schedules and performance goals.
- Oversee data collection, processing, and analysis to validate system performance, identify anomalies, and drive corrective actions.
- Manage test resources, budgets, and logistics, including flight line operations, instrumentation, and test equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in flight test engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven expertise in developing test plans, conducting flight test operations, and analyzing flight data.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and aerospace standards (e.g., MIL‑STD, FAA).
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder‑management skills; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
