Software Engineer
Entry‑level engineer role focused on installing, maintaining and fault‑finding fire alarm, emergency lighting, CCTV and access control systems across residential and commercial sites, with on‑call duties and customer‑facing responsibilities.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission and maintain open‑protocol fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve faults on site, providing timely remedial actions to minimise downtime.
- Respond to on‑call assignments (approximately one call every eight weeks), including night‑out duties.
- Interact directly with customers, delivering professional service and clear communication about system status and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete required paperwork for each job.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a willingness to learn industry‑specific technologies.
- Basic understanding of IT/telecom concepts is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills and a proactive, safety‑focused attitude.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to client sites across Hampshire and surrounding counties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
