Software Engineer
Experienced engineer to lead installation, testing and commissioning of fire and security solutions for commercial, hospitality, education and healthcare projects, ensuring compliance, quality and on‑time delivery.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on‑site installation and commissioning of fire alarm, CCTV, access control and related security systems for a range of commercial clients.
- Conduct system testing, fault diagnosis and final handover, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and client representatives to maintain schedules, budgets and quality standards.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, as‑built drawings and commissioning reports.
- Provide on‑site technical support and training to client staff during and after project completion.
Requirements
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire alarm and security systems in commercial environments.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., BS 5839, EN 54, ISO 27001) and industry best practices.
- Electrical installation qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) and ability to read schematics and AutoCAD drawings.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Effective communication and project management abilities, with a focus on safety and client satisfaction.
