Analytical professional responsible for institutional budgeting, financial planning, sponsored research analysis, cost modeling, and management reporting, collaborating with research administration and leadership.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain multi‑year institutional budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with strategic goals.
- Analyze sponsored research contracts, grant budgets, and cost allocations to ensure compliance and optimal resource utilization.
- Create cost models and variance analyses to support decision‑making for research projects and operational units.
- Design and deliver management reports and dashboards using Tableau and other visualization tools for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators, research administration, and department heads to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or CPA/MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, or research analytics within a complex, research‑intensive environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation; experience with Python for data analysis is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, grant management, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
