Field Applications Scientist - NGS Bioinformatics
Software Engineer
Provide expert technical support and guidance for NGS bioinformatics pipelines, assisting customers with command‑line tools, data analysis, and Linux environments to ensure successful sequencing projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on‑site and remote technical support for NGS bioinformatics workflows, troubleshooting command‑line tools and pipelines.
- Guide customers through data analysis steps, from raw sequencing reads to actionable results, using Python and R scripts.
- Develop and maintain documentation, tutorials, and best‑practice guides for Linux‑based bioinformatics environments.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and influence feature enhancements.
- Conduct training sessions and webinars to educate users on optimal use of NGS software and hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Linux command line, shell scripting, and NGS data processing.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and pipeline development.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Experience supporting scientific customers in a technical or field‑application role is preferred.
