BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
BB&E is currently looking for a Facilities Engineering Studies Specialist to provide technical support to the U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) located at Shaw Air Force Base (AFB), SC. This is a full-time on-site position at Shaw AFB, SC.
- Provide technical prime power generation expertise and support development and implementation of prime power shore/commercial power generation plan.
- Provide facility engineering support to develop plans and/or oversee implementation of projects to include but not limited to; correcting identified facility deficiencies, provide upgrades, and increase capacity where possible/necessary.
- Perform engineering studies and analyses of all facilities and its associated equipment’s when required to determine upgrades and or repair needs. Engineering studies should include but are not limited to electrical distribution system analysis and testing, mechanical system evaluation studies, fire protection studies, etc.
- Develop and maintain RAM program and report performance metrics via COP.
- Use formal systems engineering practices throughout the lifecycle to ensure facilities remain on schedule and within budget.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required.
- DoD active secret clearance is required.
- Knowledge
- Demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Facility Engineering, developing plans, and overseeing implementation of projects.
- Experience with MS Office Computer software including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide technical expertise for criteria development and review of engineering documents.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences; demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel
- Software: Experience using RAM and COP; MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in mechanical, civil or electrical, industrial systems design and engineering.
- Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering. BB&E will consider candidates with associate’s degrees and relevant experience.
- Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
