Software Engineer
Lead design, development, and sustainment of mission‑critical geospatial data services for federal clients, leveraging Python, Java, and AWS to build scalable REST APIs and GIS solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust data services for the Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and Java, integrating with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate complex security and intelligence requirements into scalable software solutions.
- Write clean, well‑documented code and conduct code reviews to uphold quality standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and deliver incremental value in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in mission‑critical environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL with experience building GIS‑enabled applications.
- Hands‑on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
