Software Engineer
Lead the design and implementation of integrated grid planning (IGP) solutions, leveraging Python, SQL, GIS, and AWS to model future electricity demand and support strategic infrastructure decisions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IGP software tools and data pipelines that support long‑term electricity demand forecasting and grid expansion planning.
- Integrate GIS datasets, power system models, and market data using Python and SQL to produce actionable insights for strategy teams.
- Deploy and manage cloud‑based solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability for critical planning applications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers, analysts, and policy experts to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Provide technical mentorship, code reviews, and best‑practice guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with extensive experience in power systems and grid planning.
- Proficiency in Python programming, SQL query development, and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of building data models that inform strategic infrastructure decisions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in a hybrid, multidisciplinary environment.
