Estates Engineer – Plumbing General responsible for day‑to‑day plumbing and mechanical welfare of a theatre and learning centre, maintaining and repairing facilities, coordinating contractors, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and develop plumbing and general mechanical systems across the theatre and production/learning centre.
- Provide expert advice and alternative solutions to improve facility performance and reliability.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and in‑house projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Implement health and safety procedures, conduct risk assessments and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support operational needs and troubleshoot technical issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plumbing and mechanical maintenance within a large building or cultural venue.
- Strong knowledge of building services, HVAC, and related systems.
- Excellent project coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating Saturday shifts.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices.
