About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Epic electronic health record platforms for security events using SIEM solutions and generate actionable alerts.
- Investigate and triage security incidents, documenting findings and coordinating remediation with IT and clinical teams.
- Perform regular vulnerability scans, assist in patch validation, and track remediation progress.
- Support risk assessments and compliance audits, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and internal security policies.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident reports, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Fundamental knowledge of SIEM platforms, network protocols, and Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of healthcare security standards such as HIPAA and experience with vulnerability management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to communicate technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Interest in developing a career in cybersecurity within a healthcare environment.
