About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Epic ODBA databases across multiple production environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Design, implement, and monitor backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies for critical healthcare data.
- Analyze and tune SQL queries, indexes, and database configuration to meet stringent uptime and response time SLAs.
- Collaborate with application developers, security teams, and infrastructure engineers to implement database security, patching, and compliance controls.
- Automate routine database tasks using shell, Python, or PowerShell scripts, and maintain documentation of procedures and configurations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience, with a strong focus on ODBA roles in large enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database 19c/21c, SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
- Solid experience with Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and database monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH) is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication abilities.
