Strategic leader responsible for defining and governing application architecture across complex university domains, driving digital transformation through cloud, micro‑services, and integration solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the enterprise application architecture roadmap for engagement, student, research, finance, HR and facilities systems.
- Lead architectural governance, ensuring alignment with business strategy, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Design cloud‑native, micro‑services and integration solutions, selecting platforms such as AWS or Azure and appropriate integration middleware.
- Collaborate with product owners, development teams and senior IT leaders to translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
- Mentor architects and engineers, fostering best‑practice adoption and continuous improvement across the application portfolio.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise‑level application architecture, preferably in higher‑education or large‑scale public sector environments.
- Professional certification in TOGAF or equivalent framework and proven track record delivering cloud‑based architectures (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Deep expertise in micro‑services, API management, and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, IBM Integration Bus).
- Strong knowledge of Java (or comparable enterprise language) and modern DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
