Engineering Technician – Controls Specialist responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining advanced control, automation, and building management systems across power generation and electrical distribution infrastructure in a high‑complexity environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA systems for power generation and electrical distribution assets.
- Integrate Building Management Systems (BMS) with existing automation infrastructure to enhance facility reliability.
- Conduct field commissioning, performance testing, and preventive maintenance of control hardware and software.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of control solutions.
- Document system specifications, wiring diagrams, and maintenance procedures for long‑term asset management.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and SCADA platforms.
- Proficiency in BMS configuration and integration with industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution, power generation, and industrial automation principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote locations.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and technical documentation.
