Software Engineer
Summer engineering internship providing hands‑on experience in product design, manufacturing support, documentation, and local exhaust ventilation systems for a leading exhaust and ventilation manufacturer.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Support manufacturing teams by preparing work instructions, bill of materials, and tolerance analyses.
- Document design decisions, test results, and project updates in clear technical reports.
- Participate in the development and testing of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems, including airflow calculations and component selection.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot design issues and propose improvements.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical program.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic understanding of product design principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, or assembly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
- Interest in HVAC/ventilation systems and willingness to learn industry‑specific standards.
