Software Engineer
Lead engineering projects for human health and performance at NASA Johnson Space Center, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and cross‑functional teams while ensuring compliance with NASA standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and control engineering projects supporting astronaut health and human performance initiatives.
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, tracking performance against milestones.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and programmatic risks in accordance with NASA risk management processes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, subcontractors, and NASA stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
- Prepare and present status reports, technical reviews, and documentation that adhere to NASA technical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex engineering projects, preferably in aerospace or government contracts.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong knowledge of NASA procedural and technical standards, risk management, and earned‑value management.
- Demonstrated expertise in schedule and budget control tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and risk analysis techniques.
