Software Engineer
Lead engineering projects for amphibious and auxiliary naval vessels, driving delivery, sustainment, and modernization initiatives using program and project management expertise in a DoD shipbuilding environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver new amphibious, auxiliary, and landing craft projects on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate with Program Managers, contractors, and Navy stakeholders to define requirements, scope, and performance metrics.
- Oversee design reviews, risk assessments, and technical change control to ensure compliance with DoD and Navy standards.
- Manage sustainment programs, including maintenance, modernization, and life‑cycle support for existing fleet assets.
- Prepare and present progress reports, cost forecasts, and technical recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in naval acquisition, shipbuilding, or surface ship sustainment.
- Proven track record in program and project management, with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of DoD acquisition processes, quality assurance, and risk management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
