Engineering Manager - Machine Learning

The Machine Learning Engineering Manager will lead a team of ML engineers in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning components for the Infrrd platform, focusing on Information Extraction and Intelligent Document Processing. This role requires strong technical leadership and management skills to drive projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to become an expert on Infrrd platform functions and features, acting as a strategic advisor to improve product value and business results. You will manage talented ML engineers in their pursuit to perform Information Extraction using cutting-edge AI combined with thoughtful design for Intelligent Document Processing.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of various machine learning components of the Infrrd platform.
Manage a highly talented team of Machine Learning and Applied Machine Learning Engineers.
Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
Participate in key technical and design decisions as we push the capabilities and boundaries of our system.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements, understand dependencies, define architecture, and implement and maintain solutions to well-defined machine learning problems.
Work closely with product management and software engineering teams to ensure we're building the best products.

Requirements

10+ years of combined professional software engineering experience as an engineering manager, tech lead, or ML engineer.
4+ years of tech leadership or management experience, ideally in ML engineering or a related area.
Recent professional experience building, deploying, and managing production ML software and systems at scale.
Demonstrated management ability, including strong communication, coaching, and prioritization skills, as well as high EQ.
Demonstrated ability to triage and solve open-ended, ambiguous systems-level problems.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, ideally in computer science with a focus on ML. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.

Nice to Have Skills

Certifications or Courses related to basic and advanced machine learning.
Successfully handled a team of AI engineers in the past.
