Engineering Manager
Lead cross‑functional engineering teams in designing and building U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers, driving program execution, risk mitigation, and technical excellence across shipbuilding and systems integration.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end‑to‑end engineering program for naval vessel construction, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, design reviews, and risk management plans for complex ship systems.
- Coordinate with shipyard operations, procurement, and quality assurance to resolve technical issues and optimize production flow.
- Report program status to senior leadership, providing data‑driven insights and recommendations for process enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in shipbuilding or large‑scale systems integration.
- Proven track record managing multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
- U.S. citizenship required; willingness to travel 10‑25% of the time.
