Engineering Manager
Lead a high‑performing engineering team building the real‑time feed platform for a fast‑growing livestream commerce product, leveraging Python, Java, AWS, and Kafka to deliver scalable, low‑latency experiences.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end roadmap for the live‑feed service, defining architecture, scaling strategy, and feature priorities.
- Mentor, coach, and grow a cross‑functional team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, rapid iteration, and high quality.
- Collaborate with product, data, and design partners to translate business goals into technical solutions that handle millions of concurrent users.
- Drive adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability across the feed stack.
- Ensure reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous optimization of AWS‑based infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years leading technical teams in a fast‑moving consumer‑facing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Java, and hands‑on experience building micro‑services on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB).
- Deep understanding of real‑time data pipelines and messaging systems such as Kafka or Kinesis.
- Proven track record designing, scaling, and operating distributed systems that serve high‑throughput, low‑latency workloads.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to align engineering execution with product vision.
