Lead a high‑performing data engineering team to design, build, and scale a cloud‑native data platform, leveraging Python, AWS, SQL, and machine‑learning pipelines to enable safe, fair AI‑driven decisions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross‑functional data engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Architect and oversee the development of scalable, secure data pipelines and storage solutions on AWS, supporting real‑time and batch processing.
- Partner with product, data science, and security stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data models and machine‑learning workflows.
- Drive adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability for data infrastructure.
- Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones using Agile methodologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or software development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, and deep experience building data pipelines on AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and machine‑learning pipeline orchestration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex, high‑impact projects in a fast‑moving environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a track record of collaborating across product, analytics, and security teams.
