Engineering Leader
Braviant is looking for an Engineering Leader who will serve as both a software architect and engineering manager for a team of 6-8 full-stack developers and QA engineers. This role involves owning the full-stack application development function, managing the consumer lending platform, conducting architecture and code reviews, and simplifying the existing microservice architecture.
Braviant is seeking a hands-on Engineering Leader to oversee our full-stack application development function. In this role, you will act as both the primary software architect and the engineering manager for a team of 6–8 full-stack developers and QA engineers. You will be responsible for our consumer lending platform throughout its entire lifecycle, encompassing front-end Angular interfaces, back-end Java/Spring Boot services, and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
This is not a purely managerial position; we expect you to remain deeply technical. Your responsibilities will include conducting architecture and code reviews, prototyping solutions, and serving as the go-to person for complex technical challenges. You will apply your expertise to evaluate our existing architecture, which features a complex environment of 30+ microservices, and then devise and implement a practical strategy to streamline it and reduce release friction over time.
This position is based in Addison, TX, with a requirement for 4 days in-office. The team is currently located primarily in Chicago, and initial travel of up to 20% may be required. You will be instrumental in establishing the engineering culture as the on-the-ground engineering leader.
