Software Engineer
Create detailed engineering drawings and schematics for meteorological measurement equipment, supporting radar, weather stations, and flood‑warning systems using CAD tools and instrumentation knowledge.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce accurate 2D and 3D engineering drawings for a range of meteorological sensors and measurement systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to translate functional requirements into detailed design documentation.
- Maintain drawing standards, version control, and documentation in line with government and industry guidelines.
- Support the integration of hardware components, including radar, wind profilers, automatic weather stations, and flood‑warning instruments.
- Utilise GIS data to ensure proper placement and alignment of field equipment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for creating precise technical drawings.
- Experience with instrumentation or measurement system design, preferably in environmental or meteorological contexts.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and documentation practices.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality, compliant design artefacts.
