Software Engineer
Co‑op engineering role focused on designing, analyzing, and supporting transmission line projects using CAD, GIS, and SCADA tools within a power systems environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of high‑voltage transmission lines, including route selection, conductor sizing, and structural calculations.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Support GIS mapping and asset management for transmission assets.
- Collaborate with field teams to gather data, perform site inspections, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to project documentation, cost estimation, and schedule tracking.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program (or related field) with a strong foundation in power systems.
- Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or similar) and basic GIS skills.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and transmission line standards.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
