Software Engineer
Leads planning, funding, and delivery of capital projects and off‑reserve housing portfolios, overseeing grant writing, budgeting, and construction management while providing technical engineering leadership.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute major and minor capital projects, including housing, subdivision development, and renovations.
- Lead grant‑writing initiatives and secure infrastructure funding from federal, state, and tribal sources.
- Develop and manage the off‑reserve housing portfolio, overseeing development, asset management, and lifecycle performance.
- Control project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost‑effective delivery within schedule.
- Provide technical engineering judgment, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory agencies to align project goals and deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex construction or infrastructure projects, including budgeting and grant administration.
- Proven track record in securing and managing external funding and writing successful grant proposals.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities with a focus on engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams.
