Software Engineer
Lead systems test engineering for naval shipbuilding, designing and executing automated and manual test plans on embedded platforms using advanced test equipment and documentation tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, procedures, and scripts for embedded and system-level hardware and software components.
- Execute automated and manual test cases using industry-standard test equipment and tools, capturing and analyzing results to identify defects.
- Collaborate with design, integration, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot issues, provide root‑cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Document test activities, results, and traceability in configuration management systems, ensuring compliance with naval standards and customer requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical meetings to influence product quality and test strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems or embedded test engineering within a complex industrial environment.
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a high‑stakes defense manufacturing setting.
