About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute geotechnical site projects, including drilling, sampling, and data analysis for underground mine development.
- Apply rock mechanics principles to assess ground conditions, design support systems, and optimize excavation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to integrate geotechnical findings into mine design and operational plans.
- Utilize GIS and surveying tools to map subsurface conditions, monitor ground movement, and support decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in underground mine geotechnical projects, with proven drilling and data interpretation skills.
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, ground support design, and drilling techniques.
- Proficiency in GIS, surveying software, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities.
