Software Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of renewable energy projects for a major transit system, leveraging electrical engineering, data analytics, and GIS to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and integration of solar, wind, and battery storage systems across the transit network.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to conduct feasibility studies, perform energy modeling, and analyze system performance data.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions for stakeholders and governing bodies.
- Implement best practices in sustainability, safety, and quality assurance throughout project life cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy project design, implementation, or operations.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst) and data analysis tools (Excel, Python).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of Canadian regulatory standards and sustainability frameworks.
