Software Engineer
Systems Engineer supporting submarine reactor plant modernization and maintenance, providing technical solutions for structural integrity, nuclear propulsion, and training units using CAD, FEA, and project management tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering technical support for modernization and maintenance of reactor plant systems on Los Angeles, Ohio, Seawolf, and Virginia‑class submarines.
- Conduct structural analysis and finite element modeling to ensure integrity of propulsion plant components.
- Collaborate with Naval Nuclear Power Training Units to support moored training ships and the S8G prototype.
- Develop and review design documentation, drawings, and specifications using CAD tools.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to schedule maintenance activities and track project milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with nuclear propulsion systems and structural analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD and finite element analysis software.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder interaction.
