Systems Engineer
Level 2 Endpoint Security Solutions Engineer responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Trellix endpoint protection across complex DoD environments, ensuring compliance and managing vulnerabilities using Windows/Linux administration and PowerShell automation.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Trellix endpoint security solutions on Windows and Linux workstations and servers within DoD networks.
- Perform ongoing administration, patching, and policy tuning to maintain optimal protection and performance.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, remediate findings, and coordinate with incident response teams.
- Ensure endpoint configurations meet DoD cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53).
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline deployment and reporting.
- Provide tier‑2 technical support and act as a subject‑matter expert for endpoint security issues.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Trellix (or comparable) endpoint security products in enterprise or government settings.
- Strong Windows and Linux system administration skills, including scripting with PowerShell or Bash.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DoD cybersecurity compliance standards and vulnerability management processes.
- Ability to analyze security logs, troubleshoot endpoint issues, and produce clear documentation.
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
