Embedded Software Test Engineer II responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing unit, integration, system, and regression tests for advanced electricity metering products, ensuring firmware reliability and protocol compliance in an R&D environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test specifications, plans, and strategies for unit, integration, system, and regression testing of embedded firmware.
- Execute comprehensive test cases, analyze results, and document findings to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with scrum teams to provide actionable feedback and resolve firmware-related issues.
- Validate communication protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards for electricity metering products.
- Contribute to the creation of automated test scripts and frameworks to increase test coverage and efficiency.
Requirements
- Strong background in embedded software development and firmware testing.
- Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of communication protocols used in metering devices (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850).
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork in an agile R&D setting.
