About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical design packages for commercial and institutional buildings, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.
- Perform solar photovoltaic system design, sizing, layout, and integration with building electrical infrastructure.
- Produce construction documents and coordination drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring compliance with Ontario Electrical Safety Code and relevant standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and clients to resolve design issues and support project delivery.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and testing to verify installation quality and performance of electrical and PV systems.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; professional registration (e.g., P.Eng or O.Eng) preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in MEP electrical design, with demonstrated expertise in solar PV projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical drafting and BIM coordination.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices for power distribution and renewable energy systems.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
