Software Engineer
Electrical Engineer to design, test, and maintain power and control systems for Vancouver’s SkyTrain network, leveraging automation, PLC, and signal processing expertise to support expansion and renewal projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and validate electrical power and control systems for SkyTrain assets, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Develop and implement PLC and SCADA solutions for automated train operations and infrastructure monitoring.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on new asset acquisition, infrastructure renewal, and line expansion projects.
- Conduct troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and control systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications for design reviews and regulatory approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in power systems and automation for transportation or large infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with PLC programming, SCADA, and signal processing tools.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, IEEE) and safety regulations.
