About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, model, and analyze medium‑voltage distribution systems using industry‑standard tools such as AutoCAD and PowerFactory.
- Develop and configure SCADA and PLC solutions for real‑time monitoring, control, and protection of distribution assets.
- Implement grid automation strategies, including smart‑meter integration, fault detection, and load balancing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate customer requirements into technical specifications and detailed engineering deliverables.
- Perform performance testing, validation, and commissioning of distribution equipment to ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience in distribution system design.
- Proficiency in SCADA/PLC programming and scripting languages such as Python for data analysis and automation.
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis, protection schemes, and grid automation concepts.
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and electrical design software.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work remotely across California.
