Software Engineer
Lead a multi‑year migration of a large analytics platform from Redshift to Databricks on AWS, building a Medallion architecture while managing a small team of data engineers and Power BI developers.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the end‑to‑end migration of the analytics platform from Amazon Redshift to Databricks, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Design and implement a Medallion data lake architecture on AWS, leveraging S3, Glue, Lake Formation, and Delta Lake best practices.
- Lead a cross‑functional team of 4–5 data engineers and Power BI developers, providing mentorship, code reviews, and performance coaching.
- Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and product owners to translate business requirements into scalable data models and dashboards.
- Establish governance, security, and compliance standards for data access, lineage, and auditability across the platform.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with a proven track record of large‑scale platform migrations.
- Deep expertise in AWS services (Redshift, S3, RDS, Glue, Lake Formation) and Databricks Delta Lake.
- Strong background in building Medallion or similar multi‑layer data lake architectures.
- Hands‑on experience with Power BI, data modeling, and dashboard development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
