Data Scientist
Lead an oncology data science team to design and implement multimodal biomarker discovery pipelines, leveraging real‑world molecular data, clinical trial information, and advanced machine‑learning methods on cloud platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategy for multimodal oncology biomarker discovery, validation, and clinical implementation.
- Lead a cross‑functional data science team in analyzing proprietary and public molecular datasets, real‑world evidence, and clinical trial data.
- Develop and deploy scalable machine‑learning pipelines and statistical models using Python, R, and cloud services (AWS) to generate actionable insights.
- Collaborate with translational scientists, clinicians, and bioinformaticians to integrate tissue‑based and liquid‑biopsy data into biomarker workflows.
- Present findings to senior leadership and external partners, influencing portfolio decisions and therapeutic development.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a related field with extensive oncology focus.
- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine‑learning, and biomarker research within pharma or biotech.
- Proficiency in Python (or R), SQL, and cloud platforms such as AWS for large‑scale data processing.
- Demonstrated track record of leading interdisciplinary teams and delivering validated biomarkers to clinical programs.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex analytical results into strategic recommendations.
